DERBY
RULES
Ø
ANCHORING:
Do not crowd CHARTER BOATS. Leave plenty of room for swing.
Ø
ELIGIBLE CONTESTANTS:
Open to all boat or bank fishermen (all fishermen in boat must be
a registered derby contestant).
Ø
TEAMS:
Teams consist of three anglers per team. All anglers must sign up
as a part of a three-member team.
Ø
INDIVIDUAL (NON-TEAM) ENTRIES:
In the past, we’ve only allowed 3-person teams to compete.
We have found that this has closed the competition to many
interested individual anglers. This year we have opened the
completion up to include these anglers as well. These entries are
eligible for individual prizes although, obviously, not team
prizes.
Ø
QUALIFIED WATERS:
Lower Columbia River Estuary only.
Ø
WEIGH-IN:
Port of Chinook Boat Launch by 3pm.
Any fish not at weigh-in by
3pm will be disqualified.
Ø
FISH:
Only sturgeon caught by registered derby contestants using rod and
reel according to WDF&W or ODF&W regulations during legal fishing
hours on Derby Day are eligible for prizes. No fish with cut
or missing tails allowed. WDF&W will attend weigh-in. Any
fish found with added weight will be disqualified. All fish
must be alive for weigh-in. All fish will have their tails
punched at weigh-in.
Ø
WINNERS:
The teams with the most combined weight are Team Winners. Largest
single sturgeon by weight are winners of individual prizes.
Ø
RULING:
Tournament Officials will determine all rules, official time, and
weights.
